Argentinean
Malbec Fastest Growing Varietal in U.S.
SEATTLE-New from Click Wine Group,
HIGH NOTE is a classic Argentinean Malbec,
smooth and velvety, distinctive and modern, from the Uco Valley
in Mendoza, the location of the world's finest Malbec vineyards.
True
to the Click Wine Group philosophy, the new wine brings a fresh
look to a fast-growing category with an elegant, upscale label
and an excellent taste profile.
Perfectly
attuned to today's wine consumer, the label is easy to read,
the name memorable, and the wine delicious. Its distinctive
design conveys the special attributes of the brand with images
of the hot desert sun and high altitude mountains, which are
essential to the quality of HIGH NOTE Malbec.
On
the palate, HIGH NOTE displays the flavors
of blackberries, plums, and black cherries with a touch of spice.
Its rich, deep violet color; smooth velvety texture; soft tannins;
and long, silky finish complete the taste experience.
"Malbec
is on fire and High Note Malbec is an excellent example of why.
Packaging, pedigree, price performance, it is all there,"
said Leonard Rede, Wine Steward at Seattle-based Metropolitan
Market, a leading gourmet retailer located in Uptown.
"Consumers are very interested in Malbec and Argentina
is the best region for this varietal. High Note is a excellent
example of the quality of wine coming from this area and at
a great price point," said Michael Quinlan, Table and Vine,
New England's premier fine wine and spirit merchant located
in Massachusetts.
The
Ideal Partnership of Expertise and Innovation
Born out of Click Wine Group's belief that Argentinean Malbec
would be the next sought-after varietal for U.S. consumers,
the wine was created by Peter Click, CEO of Click Wine Group.
While touring the top wineries in Argentina, Click met Laura
Catena, an expert in the Argentinean wine industry. Laura introduced
Peter to the Vista del Sur Winery, where she is an investing
partner. "In my conversations with Laura, we were both
convinced that the expertise at Vista del Sur, coupled with
Click Wine Group's successful history of developing and launching
brands that connect with consumers, would be a winning combination
for producing great Malbec," remarked Click.
Vista
del Sur - Dedicated to the Finest Malbec from Vine to Bottle
Located in the Uco Valley, high in the Andes foothills of Argentina's
famed Mendoza wine-making region, Vista del Sur's vineyards
enjoy the ideal terroir for growing the finest Malbec. Ranging
in altitude from 3,300 to 5,000 feet, the vineyards are among
the highest in the world. Intense desert sunlight, very cool
nightly temperatures, and dry sandy soil provide the fruit with
long hang times and concentrated flavors without excessive sugar.
Vista
del Sur was among the first wineries to employ specially designed
small tronco-conic tanks for the production of Malbec and the
only winery to produce all of its Malbec exclusively in these
tanks. Unlike traditional tanks, the tops of the tronco-conic
tanks are tapered and smaller in diameter than the bottom. This
unique shape compresses grape skins in the cap (grape solids
like stems, seeds, and skins) and increases space for the cap
and juice to mix during fermentation and maceration. The result
is a higher extraction of Malbec's soft tannins and more flavorful
concentration and velvety texture in the finished wine.
In addition, Vista del Sur blends Malbec fruit from a variety
of microclimates within the Uco Valley region to achieve a more
complex, balanced wine.

"The
timing is right for HIGH NOTE," says Click.
"Not only because more American wine lovers are discovering
this great taste every day, but also because our partnership
